Unexpected Gifts
Spent the evening with some writer friends – all Bruin Scribes. There is something quite magical in Los Angeles about my social life. It’s got such a lovely rhythm. I could’ve never guessed it would be like this. Sure, I can be a little overloaded or I say yes to events a little too often. But, from where I was in Chicago to where I am here, it’s a sea change I never imagined possible. It’s probably one of the reasons I love Los Angeles so much. It’s a unique feeling being surrounded by so many individuals who love the same thing you do, as passionately as you do, AND have devoted their lives to pursuing it. It’s quite the unexpected gift. Especially for someone like me, who is often too comfortable spending days alone, in the company of my ever buzzing thoughts.
